Prolotherapy and TMJ

Prolotherapy and TMJ
A commonly forgotten area in regards to headache and
neck pain is the temporomandibular joint. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the physical connection where the jaw meets the skull. The TMJ is needed to keep the jaw in proper alignment, especially when talking and eating. A painful and clicking TMJ is called Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJS). TMJS symptoms are very similar to those of Barre-Lieou Syndrome. The symptoms, such as dizziness and vertigo, that physicians ascribe to the TMJS, may actually be due to Barre-Lieou Syndrome.

BARRE-LIEOU SYNDROME AND TMJ
Although the common headache usually responds quite well to aspirin or other over the counter medications, those who've experienced the torment of migraines or cluster headaches are often frustrated by the lack of any effective cure. Drugs developed specifically for such headaches are effective, but the relief they provide is temporary. Until the root of the problem is unearthed and corrected, the headaches will persist, and prolonged drug therapy to relieve them will be necessary, along with the possibility of addiction.
