Dr. Taunton was born and raised in Butler, Georgia. He graduated from Middle Georgia College in Cochran, with an Associate of Science degree in pre-medicine. 

He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  

Dr. Taunton received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia in Athens Georgia. After internship, he practiced pharmacy for seven years. Dr. Taunton received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He was elected to Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society and Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. He was awarded the Jan Oliveri Memorial Scholarship for Outstanding Third-Year Student and the University's Outstanding Service Award as a senior. Dr. Taunton served his internship and residency at Doctor's Hospital in Tucker, Georgia, before opening practice in Oglethorpe.

Dr. Taunton is a member of several national and state organizations and serves as a Medical  Examiner for Macon County.
 

PROLOTHERAPY
Dr. Taunton began practicing Prolotherapy in 1994 after personal experience with low back and knee pain.
