Qualifications

My medical degree is D.O., Doctor of Osteopathy. D.O.'s receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system - your body's interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones which make up two- thirds of body mass. This training provides Osteopathic Physicians with a better understanding of the ways that an injury or illness in one part of your body can affect another. It gives D.O.'s a therapeutic and diagnostic advantage over those who do not receive additional specialized training.

Certification

Before attending medical school, I was a practicing, licensed Physical Therapist.

I am also Board-Certified Family Physician who practiced Family Medicine for six years prior to specializing in Orthopaedic Medicine. I have passed written and oral examinations and hold a Certificate in Sports Medicine. I am Board Certified by the American College of Osteopathic Pain Management and Sclerotherapy and the American Certification in Orthopaedic Musculoskelatal Medicine. This means I have passed oral, written and practical examinations in my subspecialty.

I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Medicine, the American Academy of Osteopathy and the American College of Osteopathic Pain Management and Sclerotherapy. I attend conferences frequently to keep up to date with new methods and procedures. I continue to study with some of the leading experts in the world in various disciplines to sharpen my skills.
