Autobiographical Notes

One of my earliest jobs was as a stone mason's helper. I have always worked with my hands. After college I worked as a professional dancer for eight years, appearing on Broadway and touring the continental United States. After medical school I gravitated towards preventive medicine, and worked with a very prominent alternative physician for a year. Osteopathic thought and practice became a convergence point for the internal body understanding of the dancer and the external understanding of a classically trained physician.

"Our patients are always treated osteopathically. That's one of the things I really enjoy about my practice-People usually go away feeling better."

At the core of Osteopathic philosophy is the idea that we are not so much attempting to defeat a disease as we are trying to facilitate the body's ability to heal itself.
