Dr. Lazzara is an osteopathic physician who believes in an integrated approach to his medicine with the main principal that the doctor guides the body to heal itself.  He further believes a solid history and physical examination weighs heavily to properly make the diagnosis and therefore he spends significant time with his patients.  He rarely uses steroids, anti-inflammitories [NSAIDS; Motrin, Aleve etc.; COX-2 inhabitors], or pain medicines, necessary radiographic imaging when suitable and possibly surgery when medically appropriate.

Dr. Lazzara has chosen Prolotherapy because it deals with the underlying issues of chronic pain [primarily ligaments, tendons and their bony junctions] that affords a non-surgical approach to musculoskeletal problems.  Furthermore, it provides an avenue to avoid unnecessary medicines and protracted visits, thus, freeing the patient to have a more independent life style.Dr. Lazzara received his Prolotherapy training from the Medical School of Wisconsin in a dual program combining both academics [class learning] and clinical experience [field experience in Honduras] under the mentorship of doctors Patterson, Ouellette and Walters.  Further training was obtained during his sports medicine fellowship and through doctors Pomeroy, Hull, Sessions, and, Faber from the American College of Osteopathic Prolotherapy & Pain Management.  He has been practicing Prolotherapy for approximately five years.

Dr. Lazzara earned his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University and his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences [College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific].  He went on to Brooklyn, New York for his rotating internship at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and then to Massapequa General Hospital, Long Island, New York for his residency in family practice.  Dr. Lazzara continued on for his sports medicine fellowship out of Union Hospital, New Jersey under doctors Gilsenan and Beams.

Dr. Lazzara advances Prolotherapy by presenting at national lectures, proctors medical students and residents and engages in research and board activities for Prolotherapy certification.

Dr. Lazzara is a compassionate, knowledgeable and hard working doctor for his patients who works with them to effectively treat their chronic pain and sports injuries.
