Dr. Jerald Gach was born and raised in the Detroit metro area. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, he attended the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa and earned his D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree. Returning to Michigan, he served a rotating internship at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, followed by a residency in Anesthesia there. He also served the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital (DOH), and Children’s Hospital. Dr. Gach became board certified in Anesthesia in 1978.

For 11 years while Chairman of Anesthesia at DOH and Bi-Country Hospitals, Dr. Gach provided training for local D.O. Anesthesia residents in a cardiovascular and open-heart Anesthesia rotation as well as teaching Michigan State Univeristy students basic Anesthesia concepts along with pain management services. In searching for a less invasive method of treating varicose veins using his injection skills, Dr. Gach began the study of Sclerotherapy and in 1990 opened his first vein clinic while continuing his Anesthesia practice.

Further evolution of his venous practice led to expansion into the study and application of Prolotherapy, a technique which, instead of causing a scar (“Sclero”) in a vein, produces the growth (“proliferation”) of a natural tissue in joints and soft tissue. Dr. Gach remains as Assistant Clinical Professor of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties at Michigan State University.

Last year, after serving his second voluntary teaching/learning session in the Honduras clinics, he began using state-of-the-art FOAM SCLEROTHERAPY in his clinics with improved results.

After retiring from 25 years of Anesthesia practice, Dr. Gach continues to pursue both Sclerotherapy and Prolotherapy services in his clinics to serve Michigan residents from many miles away as well as several other states.
